Exploration by blending a rough sculpt with photo bashing.
The main inspiration for this cave dweller was crustaceans and arthropods. playing around with how aquatic or insect this might be for the damn cave system it lives in.
Full body exploration, playing around with proportion whilst also considering the function. Large abdomen for nutrient storage or rear antennae for sensing obstacles in tight crevices.
Colour exploration. Figuring out the importance of colour/patterns and how it will use it. Would there be enough light to show vibrant colours to ward off predators or would it focus more on camouflage?
Final sculpt - In motion. Highlighting areas of importance and habits.
